Hello Everyone,

Sorry for the delay in my latest post, I have been busying starting my Masters in Engineering back at Michigan Tech. It’s been nice to get back into engineering, but I am finding that doing class work, research, and teaching takes a lot of my time! Anyways, this post is part two of my series on making your own website. You can read about the series here and find part 1 here. In this post, I am going to describe how to install wordpress on a BlueHost hosted website. You will be all set to do this if you followed the steps in part 1.

1) Login to your BlueHost control panel (a.k.a. c-panel):

2) Click on the “Install WordPress” button under the websites category

3) Click “Install”

4) Select the domain you previously setup

5) Press “Check Domain”

6) Check both boxes and under advanced settings put in a site title, admin username, and admin password

7) Press “Install now”

8) There will be a progress bar now at the top of your screen. Wait for that to finish.

9) Once the install has completed you can now start to use WordPress! Go to in a new web browser.

10) Login with the username/password you made in step 6

And that is it! You’re now up and running and the changes you make will start to be reflected on your page (i.e. To start, once your logged in go to appearance–>themes:

You can start looking at themes there. In my next post I will talk specifically about how to pick the right theme for you and in my last post I will talk more about how to customize your page once you have picked a theme. So keep checking back or sign up for the rss feed!

Until next time,
